Maj. Jay M. Stanley graduated from Lopez High School in 1999 and attended A & M College Station where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Biomedical Science. He went to UTHSC – San Antonio School of Medicine where he majored in orthopedics. He is currently finishing up his tour of duty with the Army and then he will enter into private practice. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His specialty in orthopedic surgery is the shoulder and elbow and at the completion of his time with the Army he will pursue additional training in these two areas. The reason for his emphasis is because many people suffer from these problem areas and they do not have access to the latest surgical practices. Jay hopes to work in a community where these skills can restore increased function to a patient with complex upper extremity trauma or congenital deformation. The final result for the patient would be: less pain and the ability to use the limb again.
