Imelda Valadez graduated from Porter High School Class of 1985. She is the most tenured female Brownsville Police Department (BPD) Officer in Brownsville at the Southmost Community Network Center. She has served for 22 years with BPD in numerous roles (officer, detective, etc.). She oversees numerous community events such as the Backpack Giveaway for BISD students, Advisor for the BPD Explorer’s Club, Neighborhood Watch Coalition, Safety School presenter, provided Driver’s Ed, Alpha Mu for women educators, NINOS Head Start, and community schools on career based and safety presentations. She is a BPD Crisis Negotiator and also conducts the Citizen’s Police Academy as well as the Junior Police Academy Training and is Field Training Officer for new police officers.
